Best Playgrounds for Watching Trains
There are a lot of great parks and playgrounds in Chicago that are near active train lines. After a relatively thorough search of the city, I've concluded Ping Tom Park is the best park for watching trains (and one of the overall best parks in the city). Ping Tom is near the Orange Line of the CTA, features amazing views of Amtrak and Metra trains passing over a bridge, and all visitors must cross an active freight train line to enter the park.
